Thriftlytics ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when using the Thriftlytics mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

Email address (used to create and identify your account)
Password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see your plain-text password)

Usage Data

Search queries you enter or scan within the App
Credit balance and transaction history (purchases and searches)
In-app purchase records (processed by Apple and RevenueCat)

Camera & Photos

When you use the scanner, images are captured and sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to identify the item. Images are not stored by us.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account
To provide search results and STR (sell-through rate) data
To track and apply your credit balance
To process in-app purchases and restore them across devices
To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Google) — account authentication and credit storage. Privacy Policy
RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. Privacy Policy
Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered item identification from camera scans. Images are processed in real time and not retained. Privacy Policy
ScraperAPI / eBay — publicly available eBay listing data used for pricing. No personal data is shared.

4. Data Retention

Your account data (email, credit balance) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Camera images used for scanning are not stored beyond the moment of processing.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication and encrypted data transmission. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
